About this deal

She was accused of getting her mobile phone immediately afterwards to take a photograph of the youngster as he lay dying in the hallway of her home in Cranmore Road, Solihull. She fled the scene and sparked a major police hunt before handing herself into detectives on October 19. It's no coincidence that the defendant was to say to the police a month before the killing, when she was arrested for assault, that one of them would end up dead.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services Mr Zou died at the scene and detectives launched a murder investigation. Sadly, there were others who were willing to try and help him stay hidden. They were fully aware Ms Doyle was lying dead in the flat but were content to cover for a killer and not say anything. Emergency services rushed to the scene of the fatal stabbing, but nothing could be done to save the victim. Another man, aged 44, suffered a small stab wound. He was rushed into the mosque for some sort of safety and sanctuary only for him to collapse inside the funeral area and breathe his final breaths. I speak on behalf of the mosque and local community who severely condemn this vile, despicable and callous act.

Tustin has admitted two counts of child cruelty during the trial, including carrying out three assaults on the boy and also making him sit or stand in her hallway for up to 14 hours a day as part of a behavioural regime. Det Supt Shaun Edwards, overseeing the investigation, previously said: “We’re supporting the family of the man who has died at what is a truly awful time for them, and our thoughts go out to them. We’ve made some really good early progress in this investigation, but there is still a lot of work to be done in identifying all of those involved in what happened last night. Tustin, 32, and 29-year-old Hughes were accused of killing Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, who suffered an “unsurvivable” brain injury on June 16, 2020. Victim Shuo Zou was with friends holding a party for a friend of both him and defendant Pengqi Sun. At some point, a disagreement broke out between Zou and Sun.

A jealous girlfriend who grinned as she stabbed her lover to death just weeks after biting his testicles has been found guilty of manslaughter. The friend who came to help him also suffered serious hand injuries. Sadly, 22-year-old Shuo Zou died at the scene on Upper Well Street. An eight-week trial at Coventry Crown Court has been told Tustin carried out the fatal assault while having sole care of Arthur. I’d urge anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have seen or recorded what happened on a mobile phone or dashcam to get in touch with us as soon as possible. Officers are speaking with residents and community leaders to offer reassurance, and patrols in the area will be stepped up.”A woman in her 90s was also injured and taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. West Midlands Police were called to the property at 7am this morning (Tuesday) along with West Midlands Ambulance Service Another man, aged 20, was also treated for a shoulder and hand injury. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A man has been charged with the murder of a 22-year-old who was fatally stabbed in Coventry city centre.

Steven Barnes, 64, is accused of killing the 57-year-old at a property in Hopedale Close on Tuesday, March 15. He has also been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in her 90s who is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital. Hughes, of Stroud Road, Solihull, was accused of murder by allegedly encouraging the killing, including by sending a text message to Tustin 18 hours before the fatal assault telling her to “just end him”. A second man was discovered with hand wounds and has been taken to hospital for treatment. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and has been taken into custody for questioning. West Midlands Police said the victim, who has now been named as Shou Zou, died after being found with serious injuries in Upper Well Street. Mr Enoch said one of the witnesses, Tony Marks, said: "She smiled as she pulled the knife out and grinned as if she was pleased in what she had just done".

Key Events

Hughes also denied two further cruelty counts – ill-treating Arthur on multiple occasions by “forcing him to stand, isolating him within the family home, and physically or verbally intimidating him” and “wilfully assaulting Arthur on multiple occasions". A police cordon still remains in place around the property and along Hopedale Close. Forensics teams are currently at the scene. Mohammed Nabeel Afzal Qadri, Head Imam at the Masjid, published a statement on Facebook condemning the violence, which he said had nothing to do with the mosque. He named the victim as Haji Rab Nawaz from Handsworth, who was said to be attending funeral prayers at the time of the incident. Cordelia Farrell, 38, knifed her partner Wayne Coventry, 36, in front of horrified friends after they argued at his brother's house. Despite the best efforts of emergency services nothing could be done to save the casualty, aged in his 20s. He was sadly confirmed dead shortly afterwards.

Mr Enoch said: "She took her revenge or retaliation, as she herself described it, and deliberately and maliciously stabbed him. Reports among locals suggest a woman was seen being led from the scene in a wheelchair covered in blood. Another resident said they heard 'lots of screaming and shouting' this morning. Domestic abuse is any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who have been intimate partners or family members, regardless of sexuality. There can never be a sense of loyalty when someone has committed the most gruesome act of murder and they are now also rightly convicted criminals. Three men have been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing outside a mosque in Coventry. Haji Choudhary Rab Nawaz, 52, was knifed outside the Jamiah Masjid & Institute, in Coventry, at around 9pm on Sunday October 1.A cordon and road diversions remain in place while police carry out their enquiries. Superintendent Ronan Tyrer said: "This is the tragic death of a young man and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this devastating time. Police found Ms Doyle’s body at a flat on Shakespeare Street, Coventry, on January 20 last year. She had suffered significant head injuries and it’s believed the mother-of-three died as much as five days before being found.
