Listen Without Prejudice
About this deal
I've always regretted not getting this on vinyl at the time and only had the CD version, so jumped at the chance of getting this on release date last week. George's vocals have a weird echo and a huge trail of reverb applied to them that removes so much definition and presence without really creating any space or depth in the way I imagine it was meant to. Additionally there seems to be an unusually large build up of static - not sure if this is the composition of the vinyl or the inner sleeve or a combination of the two. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases.
VG+ (Very Good Plus): This record has clearly been played before, but has only a moderate reduction in sound quality, despite a possible slight loss of shine and some surface marks. I, like many other, was very sad to hear George had died as he genuinely seemed like one of life's good guys and never took himself too seriously. Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Listen Without Prejudice is a masterpiece and a reminder of all the music we will never get to hear. A fabulous album, these tracks still sound as great today as they did when it was released back in the 90s.George’s Michael’s glittering career spanned four decades and he sold over 115 million albums worldwide, amassing a series of Number 1 singles and albums, including Faith and Listen Without Prejudice Vol. However, his legacy is there and this album particularly showcases his fantastic songwriting ability and musicianship. The sleeve is printed with valuable information and whilst necessary someone could have the brainwave of also including a non static paper sleeve to sit in the cover next to the cardboard one, if it costs a few pennies more than so be it. Powerful lyrical content and sparse but devastatingly effective arrangements make this probably my second 'go to' GM LP.
Especially side-by-side with recordings like Waiting For The Day, Mother's Pride and Soul Free, all of which have much more power and clarity.Listen Without Prejudice undoubtedly contains my favourite George Michael music, although I do like Older. I'm not a huge fan of his music in general although his talent and musicianship is without question.
